Is there advice somewhere on other ways, besides taxiway surfaces, to cut away tiny pieces of road sections when needed without losing lots of a road? I am not sure I understand the interaction of road network exclusion zones and default road nodes and how to tell in WED exactly where the critical nodes are. Now that I was seeing the REAL default road network, the previously mentioned road that I was seeing encroaching on the threshold lights was actually a distance from the runway, exactly like the over the overlay pictures. Once I found this offending package in the scenery.ini file and move it out of the X-Plane 11 Custom Scenery directory I started see what Julian was seeing. In the last few weeks, after over 40 recommended packages by Julian, I started getting several declines due to 'road incursion' errors. I have been moving packages in and out of my Custom Scenery directory for troubleshooting purposes and managed to let this 3D Scenery package, which DOES affect road networks, sneak in. I guess I thought it was a standard X-Plane 11 package. During trouble-shooting I found that I had in the recent past managed somehow to get an X-Plane 10 '3D HD Scenery' package into my X-Plane 11 Custom Scenery directory. I had problems getting this airport (and a few others) approved due 'road incursions'. It turns out that I solved the problem by finding out I really didn't have one at this particular point. I plan to report the issue of the encroaching road but I understand that won't show up until the next major upgrade, like XP12, even if the problem is known and fixed.Īlso, if I had to build my own runway lights, what set of objects/strings/etc would I need for the edge and threshold lights and reils? I think they can be downloaded individually but I don't see white edge lights. It is a very winding mountain run with tons of turns.
Using a poly for a road here is NOT desirable. If I put the smallest road net exclusion I can make on a node to kill the default road section that is encroaching, a VERY long, important section of road disappears. When I try to add my own, I don't see any white runway edge lights in the /lib to put in my own. If I move as far as I can and stay in the purple so it will still validate, it is not far enough, unless I kill the lights, then it will just fit with about 10 feet between runway and road edges. If I move the runway as far as I can SW down the center-line, and/or move it east I get a Validation error on upload try. My problem is that with MIRL lights selected, the last light out to the side is sticking up in the middle of the road. RW21 is a IFR runway with non- precision markings, MIRL and REILs. There is a default road the passes very close from the SouthWest diagonally across the end of runway 21 and then connects with an East/West road to a highway. I have been trying to get KFWB, Branson West into the Gateway.
